Q: Why do I have a charge of $9.00 per movie from my bank?
A: It is a CARD PRE-AUTHORIZATIONS (Please Read)

The amount of $9.00 will be levied per each movie rented. The pending charge places a temporary hold on your account, but the funds are NOT withdrawn from your account, unless the movie(s) are not brought back.
A good example of the credit card pre-authorization process is when you arrive at a hotel or rent a car and your credit card is swiped to ensure you're "good" for the cost of the transaction and the security checking process of your credit card is confirmed.
When the movie(s) are returned, the correct amount of the rental will be charged and the pre-authorization will be removed. Depending upon your bank, it may take up to 4 days to release the pre-authorization, typically it's done within a few hours.

Q: When does the movie need to be back for a one day rental?
A: Anytime before the store closes the next day. You have until Midnight the following day to return the movie and only be charged for a one day rental.

Q: How does it work?
A: Select - Swipe - Return.
Browse through the movie inventory. Select the title you want to rent.
Select Buy or Rent. Swipe your credit card and take your movie.
To return a rented DVD, Push Return and place the DVD in the return slot.

Q: What are Promo Codes and how are they used?
A: A Promo Code is a discount on a movie rental. To use a Promo Code, Browse through the movies. Select the title you want to rent. Note the slot number listed on the right side of the DVD slot. Push the start button. Enter the slot number. Select Buy or Rent. Before you swipe your credit card you will see an option to enter a coupon code. Push the coupon code button and enter your code. Swipe your credit card and take your movie. The coupon code will be applied when you return the DVD back into the kiosk and the value of the coupon will be removed from you rental total.

Q: How do I get a Promo Code?
A: As a registered member you will receive promo codes via email. Please sign up as a member of our Movie Club at our website, and this will add you to our mailing list. MichiganMovieTime.com Member Sign Up

Q: When are the movies updated?
A: The new releases are updated weekly.

Q: How do I pay for renting a movie?
A: The machine accumulates charges PER NIGHT, PER DVD, plus tax. Your credit or check card is charged when you return the movie.

Q: How many movies can I have out at the same time?
A: You can rent up to 3 DVDs at the same time on one credit card.

Q. What is the deadline for returns?
A: You have up to 17 days to return your movie. If you do not return the movie, the credit card that you rented the movie with will be automatically charged the listed selling price of the DVD.

Q: What will happen if I lose the movie?
A: If you lose a movie, please contact Customer Service. For a lost movie, the credit card that you rented the movie with will be automatically charged the listed selling price if Michigan Movie Time is notified. Otherwise on the 17th day the movie is has been checked out the credit card will be charge the 17 days of rental plus tax.

Q: What do I do if the DVD I rented is scratched or does not work?
A: Please call Customer Service. You will not be charged. If you call after regular business hours, please leave your name and number and a customer service representative will call you back within 12 hours. Tip: DVDs can stop working if there is dirt or grease on the playing service. Most often, you can wipe the dirt or grease from the DVD and it will work again.

Q: Is my credit card information safe? What type of security protects my credit card information?
A: We use the most secure method available for transactions and all communications use 128-bit encryption. Your credit card information is not stored on the kiosk computer system. All our kiosks meet the PCI DSS Compliancy requirements.

Q: Does the kiosk issue receipts?
A: The kiosk does not issue receipts, but you can view you transaction history or download a receipt from our website: Michigan Movie Time Member Login
